I am excited to start pursuing my PhD at the Information and Language Processing Systems (ILPS) group at University of Amsterdam (UvA). I will be working in the area of Information Retrieval, focusing on the user-centered design and evaluation of IR systems. [more about my research]

Previous Universities

I received the degree of Diplom-Informatiker (FH) from University of Applied Sciences (Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft), Dresden, Germany in 2003 and the MSc in Computer Science from California State University, East Bay in 2006. At CSU East Bay I was member of the research lab Adaptive Hypermedia and Assistive Technologies lab (AHAT). I completed my thesis research was on Subsymbolic User Modeling in Adaptive Hypermedia under the guidance of Dr. Hilary Holz.
